Software Developer Bioinformatics (Oncology)
As Software Developer Bioinformatics at GenDx, you contribute to our software solutions for transplantation diagnostics and – in this role specifically – to our expanding oncology product portfolio. In addition to participating in the development and maintenance of our HLA typing and Chimerism monitoring tools, you will be involved in the development of online software products related to oncology diagnostics, such as genetic tests for breast cancer (EndoPredict) and prostate cancer (Prolaris).
You enjoy translating biological and clinical needs into robust software solutions and are comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment. You’re enthusiastic, creative, accurate, and proactive in your communication. You see challenges rather than problems and resolve complex issues based on different approaches.
You add value to the R&D Software team and will collaborate closely with colleagues working on both transplantation- and oncology-related products.
Responsibilities
Development and maintenance of our software packages.
Development and implementation of new software tools, including web-based applications.
Documentation and administration of design work.
Assisting Customer Support in answering software-related questions.
Working according to IVDR, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304 standards.
Collaborating with colleagues from R&D, Quality, and Product Management on oncology-related software projects.
Requirements
BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, (Bio)Informatics, or equivalent.
1 > year of relevant work experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
Solid knowledge of and experience with software development.

Proficiency in at least two of the following:
Java (must)
HTML/ CSS/ JavaScript (preferred)
IntelliJ IDEA/ Maven (preferred)
Linux-based (web) server management (preferred)
Experience with Git version control, GitHub actions, TomCat, Oracle and Cybersecurity is a plus.
Proficiency in C#, .NET, Visual Studio, and SQL databases is considered a strong asset for our transplant diagnostics software packages.
Experience with or interest in molecular biology, oncology, and diagnostics is a plus.
Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
You live, or are willing to relocate to, the proximity of Utrecht Science Park.
